Concentration is one of the focuses in every meditation, but in some, the focus is mainly on building up your concentration. In order for you to gain all the sweet fruits of me
ditation, you will have to train your mind to focus and concentrate only on one object or nothingness. This should cut all other distractions and allow your mind to be completely calm and awake beyond your sense of self. When you reach this kind of awareness, you can use it for the greater good.

These are the different types of mediation that will help you build up your concentration and get rid of your restless mind:

  • Zen meditation
  • Om meditation
  • Transcendental Meditation
  • Chakra Meditation
  • Shine Meditation or Samadhi

Reflective Meditation

Reflective meditation or analytical meditation refers to pure and disciplined thinking. If you want to successfully practice analytical meditation, you should choose a question, topic or a theme and focus upon it in reflective and analytical way.

In the beginning, your thoughts will probably wander to all other topics, but then you should train your mind to come back and focus only on one topic or question that you have chosen. You will only be able to do that if you first learn concentration meditation.

If you manage to practice every day, you will find a way to be in control and you will not wander off the topic. This is one of the most important types of meditation, and has a calming effect on your soul and on the mind. With this, you can find all the answers within yourself.

While you meditate you can focus on following questions:

Who am I really?

What is the purpose of my life?

What is my role in the universe?

How can I help end the sufferings of other beings?
